In East Tennessee, between the cities of Chattanooga and Knoxville, there is a little town called Niota. In that little town, there is a hosiery mill called Crescent. And there, my friends, you will find the home of the World’s Softest® Sock.

We are an American company. We were founded in Niota, Tennessee over 100 years ago. We've built, expanded, re-built after a fire, expanded even more, and here we stay. We watch kids play baseball across the road, we listen to the trains rumble down the tracks, and we've been known to drag out the grills and cook up some burgers in the summer.

We are a Family company. Some of our employees are following in the footsteps of their parents, grandparents, even great-grandparents. We're a close-knit bunch, so we fuss, cry, laugh, and – some say most importantly - eat together.  Of course, we work in time to knit quality socks, creating happy feet around the world.  We run our knitting machines at least 5 days a week, 24 hours a day, but we never work on Sunday.*  Time with our family is very important and we want our employees to have time to rest.

We are Real people. In fact, we're just like you. We don't hire outside professionals to "face" our company – we ARE the professionals and we're all about the feet. We make the socks that you wear to work, to watch your kid's softball game, Sunday dinner with the family, night classes, road trips…those everyday moments in real life that don't make it into commercials. We make our socks so that whether you're hard at work or hard at play, your feet only feel incredible softness.

 *   Our Classic and Sensitive Collections are made right here in Niota, Tennessee.  Our Spa and Everyday Collections are outsourced in Korea due to the limited capacity of our facility.  We stand behind the quality of all our products, even though the Spa & Everyday socks are not made at our facility we ensure they are quality product and you are still supporting our American Company!
